OFW  is pleased to announce that Kyla Kaplan  has joined  the firm as an associate attorney. While Ms. Kaplan will be heavily focused on regulatory matters for our FDA- and USDA-regulated food clients, she will also be working on a variety of agriculture, medical products and government relations issues.

Ms. Kaplan brings to OFW Law a plethora of educational and practical experience. She graduated from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law where she obtained her J.D. degree focused in Environmental and Health Law.  After law school, Ms. Kaplan received her LL.M. in food and agriculture law, in conjunction with a Graduate Assistantship (GA), at the University of Arkansas. While earning her LL.M., Ms. Kaplan spent time working at Tyson Foods’ Legal Department and participated in a practicum with Walmart’s food safety team. Ms. Kaplan also served as the LL.M. Advisor to the University of Arkansas School of Law’s Journal of Food Law & Policy.

Brett Schwemer, Managing Principal of OFW Law, stated: “Kyla’s passion for food safety, education and experience, and understanding of the FDA and USDA regulatory systems makes her a great match for OFW’s FDA and USDA practice groups.

OFW Law is excited to have Kyla join our team.”

Ms. Kaplan is excited to be joining the team at OFW Law and to work with the diverse variety of clients we serve. She stated: “navigating complex regulations is essential in today’s constantly changing food and medical products supply chain. I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective to food, agriculture, and drug regulatory matters.”
