Molly O’Connor is a Senior Policy Advisor at OFW Law, where she helps clients navigate complex legislative, regulatory and political challenges. With more than 15 years of experience in Washington, Molly brings a unique perspective from working both as an outside advisor representing organizations and companies and from inside national trade associations leading federal advocacy strategies.
Molly’s practice focuses on agriculture, food, trade and other federal policy issues affecting businesses and associations. She works closely with clients to understand their goals, translate complex policy developments into actionable strategies, build coalitions and relationships, and ensure their perspectives are heard by Congress, the Administration and federal agencies.
Before returning to OFW, Molly served as Director of Federal Affairs for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), where she led advocacy on a broad domestic policy portfolio that included the Farm Bill, labor, competition, tax, transportation and appropriations. She advised organizational leadership and producer leaders, represented the pork industry before Congress and federal agencies, and helped develop and execute federal advocacy strategies.
Previously, Molly spent more than five years as Director of Federal Government Relations at CropLife America, where she served as a senior federal advocate for the U.S. pesticide industry and established and led the association’s international trade policy portfolio. Her work included tariffs, agricultural market access, maximum residue limits, WTO and Codex issues, as well as Farm Bill policy. She also founded and led the association’s Trade Committee and served as Political Director for CropLife America’s PAC.
Earlier in her career, Molly spent seven years at OFW, representing Fortune 500 companies, national agricultural organizations and nonprofit organizations on issues including agriculture, international trade, biotechnology, international food assistance, biofuels, livestock, nutrition and forestry. Her work included leading advocacy and coalition strategies, developing congressional testimony, advising clients on Farm Bill priorities, and helping guide a national agricultural organization’s international trade advocacy strategy including during consideration and implementation of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
